Can you use electric dryer with gas hookup

How To Install a Gas Dryer - NG or LP Gas Line Connections

New build inspection.

Gas hookup for dryer, but no circuit for can electric dryer. I am wondering if both are required? Around here, most are electric, use whenever I see a gas hookup, there is always both types installed for preference. Is it required to have both when gas is available? Was doing a pre-drywall inspection, and I noted in the report for the buyer to verify if they were also installing a read article, and the builder said no.

A volt, 20 amp individual electric circuit is required for the laundry area. On a new builds around here I always see a volt dryer circuit, and sometimes both a NG pipe and a circuit as Daniel mentioned in the OP.

Although it could be the buyer had a request for only a NG pipe be installed. While a v circuit is not required I always provide additional information when a gas dryer is present.

Most people do not realize the combustion gasses exhaust through the duct hose with the hot air. Extra attention to lint backup is needed. Around here if the house already has natural gas very people will opt for an with dryer since the natural gas operating costs you so much lower than electric.

Also gas dryers are more energy efficient and are generally faster at drying than their electric counterpart.

Electric dryers typically require avolt circuit to operate, while gas dryers only need a gas supply line and do not require a dedicated electrical circuit. This is because electric dryers rely on electric for both heating and hookup, while gas gas use natural gas or propane for heating. Just replaced my solar clothes dryer. Yes, I know. I was referring to having the option for both electric and gas.
