I have been hosting my cell organelles speed dating event speed many years and dating never fails to fully engage my Biology kiddos. You can totally do this without purchasing anything.
This activity dating my students two speed more info periods. The first day is dedicated to research and dating second day is when the fun happens. To start, I assign each student an organelle to research and provide them with a name tent template to complete. Since this activity serves as an introduction to cell organelles, I want my students to get accurate information from their classmates.
I make it a point to walk around the classroom and check the information that students are putting on their scarletrosefree onlyfans. Once students have researched their organelle and completed the name tent template, they must then create a school appropriate pick-up line for their organelle. Note: If you teach middle school, I do not recommend allowing your students search the internet for a pick up line.
There are some terribly inappropriate ones out there! I am always amazed at how creative my students get for this part of the activity. I like to set up my classroom so that my desks are facing one another with a little space between each group of desks. Typically, I have read more average around 30 students, so I set up organelle pairs of desks that are facing one another.
Numbered sticky notes are placed on half of the desks. The other students remain seated for the activity. I purchased a wireless doorbell several years ago for rotation activities.
I dim the lights, play my favorite here song playlist, and serve the students punch as they walk into the classroom. They always comment on the extra touches! I start by placing my students in desks so that each student has a partner.
I provide each student with an organelles notes sheet. The idea is for each student to be familiar with each organelle in the cell, its function, and to have this information recorded in the form of notes. After two minutes, the roles switch. Students that are seated in desks with a sticky note, rotate to the right.
Day 2- The Speed Dating Event
This continues until students return to their starting location. You might find that you have more students than organelles. This gives students a chance to collect all of their notes. Once students have a solid understanding dating cell organelles, I have my students participate in Cell Clinic- a cell organelle diagnostic activity. Students pretend to be doctors that are visiting patients with organelle organelles. After listening to their symptoms, the students must determine which organelle is malfunctioning. This activity is a lot of fun, as well!
Day 1- The Research

Using spinach leaves, the students were able to provide the plant with carbon dioxide, water, and light energy to produce oxygen supported by the floating of the leaf disks.
This lab is a great way to show photosynthesis at work in the plant cell. I have all of the details over on my blog. Just head to www. Today, my bio students took their 2nd benchmark exam for the school https://passive-income.info/hookups-skate-clothing.php. These speed are part of a progress monitoring system that is my secret sauce for student growth and success. Students take their tests via Google Forms, then graph and analyze their data.
The cell are responsible for keeping up with their data throughout the school year on their progress monitoring packet that we store here a folder in the back of the classroom. I also collect class data and post it for all of my classes to see.
I use the data to decide if I need to remediate or just keep moving forward. Are you using data to drive cell If not, what are you waiting for? My forensics class just completed our first unit investigative processes.
Of the school year. Today, they processed the crime scene.
Tomorrow will be all about analyzing the evidence, and the rest of the week will be spent questioning witnesses and building a case. This is one of my favorite activities of the year!
